Milestones achieved in Agri machinery production
Founded in 1999, Bhoomi Agro Industries had started with a small unit producing Ox Driven Seed Drill. But it rapidly grew and became one of the most trusted agricultural equipment manufacturers in Gujarat.
The year 2001
The year 2001The initial phase was full of hardships due to unfavorable market conditions. The production capacity was also low. However, the company managed to produce 500 units of seed drill in 2001. But then how to sell them was a big question.
In the meantime, a massive earthquake hit Gujarat in the same year. So the government decided to provide seed drills at half the price to support the farmers affected by the natural catastrophe.
Unaware of the government tenders, the company had to bear a huge loss. However, Mr. KiranbhaiKathiriya didn’t lose hope and decided to start direct selling in Junagadh, Somnath, and surrounding villages. And his decision proved to be a smart one. The company not only survived but also gained a good reputation as a trusted farm equipment supplier.
The year 2009-2010
By 2009, the company valuation went up to Rs. 25 lacs. So the owner decided to expand the production in a new facility in the Mavdi area of Rajkot. And in 2010, the company started manufacturing from a new factory in the Metoda industrial area of Lodhika G.I.D.C near Rajkot.
The year 2017
In 2017, Mr. Kiranbhai decided to take the company to a different level. Till then, they were producing only one product, i.e., Seed Drills. But the founder’s vision to make farming easy and profitable needed more than what the organization was doing so far. They needed to have more farming instruments to offer. But it would lead to management and operational complexity that require more expertise and experience in respective areas.
Hence he started looking for options on decentralizing the management and increasing productivity. He took the help of Smmart, a training and consulting firm that helped improve their management and operations.
Eventually, the company moved faster towards achieving the goal and becoming a multi-product farm equipment manufacturer in India.
